This is one of those uniquely crazy San Francisco stories. The original Saints were tied to USF and an all-Chinese team that had once been known as the Hong Wah Kues before moving on to the pros. The pro version of the Saints played in San Francisco in 1961 and was part of the upstart competitor to the NBA: the ABL.
They left San Francisco for Oakland to make room for the new kids in town, the Warriors, and became the Oakland Oaks. Unfortunately, the ABL folded after a couple of years, but it left one of the greatest legacies of basketball, the three-point line. I can only imagine Saints players dreaming of shooting threes like Steph.
