The PCL has been doing their thing now since the early 1900s. No doubt though, the heyday was the 30s through the 50s before major league ball embraced the West and players like Joe DiMaggio were putting the big leagues to shame. In honor of the beginning of baseball season we're selling some of our favorite team shirts with the best throwback logos. Be cooler than the guy next to you at the stadium wearing one of these bad boys.
For those of you that have been following our saga of the NBA licensing you've heard that we couldn't sell one of our top shirts from 47 Brand anymore because of the Nike NBA deal. Finally, we've found our replacement from Mitchell & Ness. The same great fabric you expect at Jack's with a bit more of a pronounced feel to the print. We're excited to be selling Mitchell & Ness, one of the oldest sports tees companies around.
Every once in a while we find something that is beyond cool. This original Seals logo hat is one of them. Put it on and imagine you're back in the 30's hanging with Joe at the old Seals stadium.
I know we're a bit whiny but when it hits 30s here, that's pretty damn cold. Broke a record today. In honor of the cold we thought we would come up with a new list of "It's colder than..."
In San Francisco there are two things we love and take seriously.... baseball and our seals. We tried to hit both with this shirt. A simple classic. Available now in our online store.
For those of you that have followed Jack's over the years you know that we went through the longest, craziest earthquake retrofit in history on Chestnut a few years ago. So when our Grant landlord said we would have to move our store out for a few months for a retrofit in that location, we decided to close the doors. Jack is getting a bit to old to keep schlepping an entire store around in the middle of the dust and chaos of construction.
Our last day for business at Grant will be Sunday, January 7. We've loved being a part of the wonderful North Beach neighborhood and will miss it. However, it will be nice to settle back into our roots on Chestnut Street. For all of the new friends we've made on Grant, please come visit us on Chestnut Street. I know we don't have a Tonys, Sodinis, Sotto Mare, Golden Boy, Gino and Carlos, Mo's.... ok, now we're just beating ourselves up. We miss you already North Beach!
It's the end of an era. For those of you that have gotten to know Sergio (aka Jack Jr), after almost 6 years at Jack's he's moving on to bigger and better things. Off to Drexel University and then getting married this summer. It's a bit bitter sweet because as happy as we are for him we're also going to miss him like crazy. Since he has never lived outside of the Bay Area we're looking forward to hearing stories of how he's freezing his ass off in Philly! Good luck Sergio from all of your Jack's family.
As promised, the short sleeve version of our best new tee is available. In-store and Online!
