A long story here starts with the Saints being kicked out of the Cow Palace to make room for the new guys in town, the San Francisco Warriors. The Saints moved to Oakland in 1962 and changed their name to the Oakland Oaks. Unfortunately, their league, the short-lived ABL, folded soon after. They were primarily known for having one of the best players in the country, Rick Barry, on the team. But the cool part of the story is the ABL left one of the greatest legacies of basketball, the three-point line. I can only imagine Oakland Oaks players dreaming of shooting threes like Steph.
