The Portland Beavers played in Portland in one form or another from 1903 to 2010. Although Jack's focuses primarily on Bay Area teams, who doesn't love a beaver holding a bat.
The Beavers were part of the Pacific Coast League, PCL. The league started in 1903 and still exists today as a Triple-A league. The league is famous for players such as Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, and Barry Bonds who all got their starts in the PCL.
